Chris Ware and Scott McCloud

Chris Ware and Scott McCloud

Chris Ware was born in America and is a comic book artist and cartoonist mainly known for his Acme Novelty Library series and the graphic novels Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid on Earth and Building Stories. His art reflects 20th century American styles and putting them into the style or cartoons and graphic. However I not that interested in his work because comic art doesn’t do it for me as a graphic designer.

In most of Chris Ware’s work it is lifeless and dull which doesn’t make me want to see more but that’s just my opinion. Compared to Scott McCloud who is also an American artist where his work is detailed, fun to look at, exciting, modern and energetic and completely different t Chris Ware because Chris is more retro and old and McCloud is more modern and eye popping. McClous has won many awards, Jack Kirby Award for Best New Series for Zot!,  Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award for Zot! Eisner Award for Best Comics-Related Book for Understanding Comics, Harvey Award for Best Writer for Understanding Comics,  Harvey Award for Best Graphic Album/Original Material for Understanding Comics, Harvey Award for Best Biographical, Historical or Journalistic Presentation for Understanding Comics,  Harvey Award for Best Biographical/Historical Presentation for Reinventing Comics.
